I'm little ignorant on the amount of protection we Indians  have interms of our privacy. Other day, I called a national bank from sydney and an officer answered the phone as " Yes..." no salutaion of course.. anyways, I said could you please tell me the balance in my account no.###. other side said.. ok wait for minute.. and comes back and says Rs.######. thank you! This same thing couldn't have been possible so easy in this part of the world. Do we have any legislation that guarantees the privacy for us Indians. I wish to take this topic seriously and write to our PM saheb to give athought to this. Any member who can throw some light on this topic would be appreciated. Thanks

PRIVACY & DETA PROTECTION
it is very important that, all Govt. Body, Banks & institutes to protect the data given from aspirants, Members etc. and not to part the same to 3rd Party.  As you narrated that, the Bank details of your A/c balance per telephone is very much doubtfull to obtain in EUROPE & USA.   Under the Data protection system.  Surely you can get your own A/c. details only after identifying with your code NRA or other systems if not to part with a 3rd party any informations should be compulsorily stooped to protect the Data of a person.
