Are the Hindu fundamentalist groups too involved in the hostage episode in J & K???
Minister warns against 'Hindu fundamentalists', draws flak Meetu Jain / CNN-IBN Published on Wed, Aug 27, 2008 at 10:42, Updated at Wed, Aug 27, 2008 in Nation section
New Delhi: The ongoing violence in Orissa has prompted the Centre to come down heavily on certain Hindu groups, accusing them of being involved in other cases as well. As fingers point to SIMI in the aftermath of the Ahmedabad blasts, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Sri Prakash Jaiswal, has come on record to say Hindu fundamentalist groups are under suspicion as well.
Seven bombs were seized from the coaching centre in Kanpur on Tuesday, Jaiswal's constituency.
“Two persons were killed making bombs in Kanpur, they are from the Bajrang Dal,” he said.
Many are questioning the timing of this statement. “We condemn the allegation. They (Congress) have turned the CBI into a political too,” said BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad.
The ministers in the UPA have gone on record to say that if SIMI is to be banned, the government should also look at banning groups like Bajrang Dal. Its critics say that unable to come out with a clear answer on the Kashmir crisis, the Government is doing political shadow boxing, turning the fight against terrorism into a fight against the Opposition.
Sri Prakash Jaiswal, INDIA was and will always remain a Hindu nation. Tell to your minority ‘Vote Banks’ to STOP killing and STOP converting Hindus.
RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal, etc are the only true nationalists and secular organizations in India.
Army, cops gun down two militants IANS Published on Wed, Aug 27, 2008 at 19:47, Updated at Wed, Aug 27, 2008 in Nation section Jammu: Security forces have rescued three children and a woman who were being held hostage during a gunbattle in which three civilians, an army officer and two militants were killed in Jammu on Wednesday.
The militants, holed up in a house in Chinore on the outskirts of the city took six civilians hostage on Wednesday morning. The police said they were trying to rescue the two remaining hostages before launching an assault on the militants.
The police say three terrorists had crossed into Jammu and Kashmir from the Kanachak sector of the Pakistan border on Tuesday morning. They were intercepted at the police check post of Chinore on Wednesday morning, about 20 km north from the centre of Jammu.
The militants, dressed in police uniforms and carrying AK-47 assault rifles, shot dead a junior commissioned officer and then hijacked a three-wheeler.
They then fired indiscriminately killing a milk man identified as Shabeet Hussain as well as a motorcyclist, Naseeb Singh, before killing the three-wheeler driver, Vijay Kumar, said the police.
The militants then entered a house in Chinore.
I am shocked and surprised that MoS, Sri Prakash Jaiswal hasn’t so far come out with any statement on this above issue. I would like to ask him if in this case too are the Hindu fundamentalist groups involved???
I congratulate my Hindu brothers and sisters for suspending their agitation for the moment in Jammu because of this incident. But as soon as this episode is over they have to “FIGHT FOR THEIR RIGHTS” with renewed vigor.
