Information to Play AG Radio
1. What you should do to listen to Voice Of Ambition Live Radio
2. Do you want to be a broadcaster and produce programs for Voice Of Ambition - India's First Public Radio?
3. To mix your voice in the songs you play or Just to brodcast your voice

This is basic information to be a DJ at Voice of Ambition Live Radio. If you want to host talk shows or want to accept live calls you need further details. If you are interested in that info please contact me at voiceofambition[at]gmail.com

1. What you should do to listen to Voice Of Ambition Live Radio

You can listen to VOA Radio by using any media player like Windows Media Player or Real Player or Win Amp. But to be a broadcaster you need to have Win Amp. Click on the Voice Of Ambition Live Radio Image on the home page to listen ot open this url http://209.216.253.37:8000/ in any of the meda players.

Install WinAmp from here http://www.winamp.com/player/free.php Choose the free version that you like. If you already have WinAmp on your computer then it is great.

2. Do you want to be a broadcaster and produce programs for Voice Of Ambition – India’s First Community Radio?

For people who are interested to become a DJ or Talk show host or News reader or create your own program and broadcast it through AG radio follow the details below.

1. First install DSP (Digital Signal Processing) plugin for Winamp which is freely available at http://www.shoutcast.com/downloads/shoutcast-dsp-1-9-0-windows.exe Download and it and double click on the file and it will automatically install the plugin in Winamp folder.

2. Now open WinAmp and on your keyboard press Ctrl+P (Ctrl and P) or go to Options on the main menu and then click on Preferences to open Winamp Preferences.

Look down the list in the left pane for DSP/Effects click this and it will show the DSP plugins installed. Look down the list in the right pane for Nullsoft SHOUTcast Source DSP v1.9.0 (dsp_sc.dll)

Double click this entry in the list and it will launch SHOUTcast Source. The configuration of SHOUTcast Source is quite simple. On the SHOUTcast Source click on the Encoder tab

Select Encoder 1 and select MP3 Encoder as Encoder Type and 96kbps, 44.100kHz, Stereo as Encoder Settings. Next click on the Output tab.

Address will be 209.216.253.37 and Port number is 8000. Encoder will be Encoder 1 as in the previous step we have configured it and we will use it here. For Password you have to please contact us at voiceofambition[AT]gmail.com . This should match our VOA server password.

Here you add our Station Information. Check the 'Make this server public'

Description: Put a tiny description of your program. If you want add your name. Eg - Joy's Choice of Latest Songs

URL Station web site address goes here. So put http://blogandhra.com/ for Telugu programs and http://voiceofambition.com for Hindi and English programs.

Genre: For our radio programs please put the Genre as Hindi, Telugu, English - Live India Public Radio

Aim, ICQ, IRC: Just leave them as it is.

Enable title updates: Check this and the two Auto boxes and this allows streaming of Track/Artist names.

Once you do all this you need to load up some music files in your WinAmp player, press Connect on the SHOUTcast DSP and Play on WinAmp and you will be streaming your program through VOA server. This is all you should do to broadcast your songs. If some other Person is connected, you will not be able to connect to the server.

Go back and look in your GUI and in the left pane you should see your station name followed by 'BROADCAST' sometimes you will need to stop and re start SHOUTcast DSP for it to connect to the network properly.

The songs or whatever you plan to do will be streamed to the server and listeners connected to the server will be able to listen to your stream.

3. To mix your voice in the songs you play or Just to brodcast your voice

  • Attach the microphone in the mic socket of your laptop or PC.
  • Click the input tab in the SHOUTcast Source.

  • Select Soundcard Input from the Input Device. The Soundcard Mixer will show up.

  1. Click and hold the button "Push to Talk" and speak into the microphone. You will see the music volume will automatically go down. After you are through with all the talks, release the button. If you need further help please check out this page at http://www.errorfm.com/djfaq.htm. One important thing is you have to talk little louder to get clear voice.
  2. If you are mixing voice between songs then select back Winamp from the Input Device select box for the rest of the song to proceed with 100% quality and volume. Go to Top
